INAF-Astronomical Observatory of Capodimonte, Italy, produced an informative short video called ‘Shedding light on the photon’. It is a fun educational video explaining the characteristics of different types of photons (such as light, gamma, UV, radio) and how they can be measured in space or on earth. It is available in English and Italian.
The video was made to celebrate the International Year of Light 2015, an initiative that highlights the importance of light and optical technologies for daily life, the future and the development of society. These aspects are addressed by providing solutions to global challenges relating to topics such as energy, education, communication and health.
