Open Education Week’s goal is to raise awareness about free and open educational opportunities that exist for everyone, everywhere, right now. The week highlights how open education can help people meet their goals in education, whether that’s to develop skills and knowledge for work, supporting formal studies, learning something new for personal interest, or looking for additional teaching resources.
Open education encompasses resources, tools and practices that employ a framework of open sharing to improve educational access and effectiveness worldwide. astroEDU adopts the open education approach to harness today’s collaborative spirit to develop educational content to meet learner’s needs.

- #AllAboutOpen 24-hour Twitter event
Open College will host a 24-hour Twitter event featuring influential contributors to the open movement, who will lead in compelling discussions on many relevant topics. Each Guest Tweeter will be provided 30 mins to facilitate a virtual conversation by tweeting short videos, articles, questions, and opinion on their topic of choice related to the open movement. - STEM Education in Africa
The webinar will discuss how to develop quality courses in STEM education and enhance access in Africa - The K-12 OER Collaborative
An initiative led by a group of 12 states working to create comprehensive, high-quality, open educational resources (OER) supporting K–12 mathematics and English language arts that are aligned with state learning standards. - Teachers Teaching Teachers
Teachers Teaching Teachers is a weekly web show where we learn from each other through open conversations. On this week’s show, we’ll be talking about open education and pedagogy, what it looks like and what advantages it holds for K-12 education. - Integration of OER with regular/formal academic programmes
