For your convenience we have compiled a concise list of upcoming Science Education conferences of 2013 and early 2014. The list has been tailored specifically for the needs of the UNAWE community and includes only conferences relevant for those involved in primary school-level science education, covering a broad range of topics such as teacher-scientist partnerships, children's media, science for children with special needs and much more. The list includes our very own annual EU-UNAWE workshop in October, so make sure you save space in your diary! More information about this event will be coming soon.

International Teacher-Scientist Partnership Conference

 Date: 13 February 2013

Location: Boston, USA

Teachers and scientists are brought together to learn from each other, create new partnerships and discuss the role of teacher-scientist partnerships within science education.

EU SCIENCE: Global Challenges, Global Collaboration Conference

 Date: 4 – 8 March 2013

Location: Brussel, Belgium

Science communicators and educatiors from across 100 countries will have the opportunity to meet and team up to help tackle societal issues through scientific research and innovation.

New Perspective in Science Education

Date: 14 - 15 March 2013

Location: Florence, Italy

This conference aims to promote transnational cooperation in science education and allows teachers, researchers, experts in the field to meet coordinators of science training projects from around the world to share best practice and present ongoing projects in the field.

Developing the Scientific Mind (BtSM2013)

Date: 27 - 31 May 2013

Location: Jawa Barat, Indonesia

BtSM2013 will bring together a diverse international group of educators and communicators in science, humanities and art to meet and exchange of ideas and experiences about: failures of formal education and how to correct them, the importance of an integral learning landscape, comprising both formal and informal environments, building the scientific mind for people with special needs and much more.

ASP 2013 

Date: 20 -24 July  2013

Location: San Jose, USA  

The conference concentrates on the issue of increasing science literacy worldwide through engagement in astronomy.

Children Media Conference 

Date: 7 - 9 July 2013

Location: Sheffield, UK

Covering all aspects of the children's media industry, from the business side to the creative elements, including animation and IPhone apps, children's literature and magazines – there's something for everyone.

Global Hands on Universe Conference 

Date: 29 July – 2 August 2013

Location: Volos, Greece

"From Telescopes to Accelerators - Enhancing Science Education by Exploring Science's Past, Present, and Future" will be the topic of this astronomy-oriented science education conference. However training sessions will take place for teachers in other areas of science and technology: maths, chemistry, physics, natural sciences, biology and environment, new technologies and more.

EU-UNAWE International Conference

Date: 7 – 11 October 2013

Location: Heidelberg, Germany

The programme will include a number of talks and discussions covering all areas of astronomy education, with special emphasis on the problems in astronomy education and proposed solutions. More information about the conference will be coming soon.

CAP 2013

Date: 14 – 18 October 2013

Location: Warsaw, Poland

Participants will consider the challenges of communication astronomy and space exploration to the public, as well as the influence science outreach and education have.

2014 Bremen Symposium on Chemistry and Science Education 

Date: 19 - 21 June 2014

Location: Bremen, Germany

Will evaluate the outcome of conferences held between 2002-2012 and outline strategies focusing Education for Sustainable Development within science education. The topics covered included: the direction of science education, what makes successful science learning and the role of research in science education.
