The EU Universe Awareness (EU-UNAWE) astronomy new service for children aged 8+, called Space Scoop, is now available in 16 national languages.
While many of the organisation’s dedicated volunteers have been translating this resource for several months, previously there was no central hub to host these versions of the releases. Now, all of the translations are available in a drop-down menu on the Space Scoops on the EU-UNAWE website. Furthermore, most of the translations will now be available at the time of publication of the original (English) version.
EU-UNAWE’s founding partner in Space Scoop, the European Southern Observatory (ESO), has also started to provide these translations on its website. For all Space Scoops that are based on ESO releases, the Space Scoop translations will be available via a link on the ESO press release for the relevant national language. Publishing the Space Scoop translations on the ESO website will help to promote the stories to a greater audience of children around the world.
The translation service is available for all new releases, and some translations of archived Space Scoops are also being added to the EU-UNAWE site.
