The “Hands-On Universe, Europe” programme (EU-HOU) has just announced their next set of training session dates for 2011 and 2012.
EU-HOU aims to “bring frontline interactive astronomy to the classroom” by providing tools for teachers and students to explore modern, cutting edge astronomy. These teacher training sessions are targeted at educators of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) who want to spark their pupils’ interests in science by promoting inquiry-based learning methodologies. By involving teachers in a variety of research-based astronomical projects, they hope to give teachers the tools and inspiration for bringing science into the classroom in new, fun and exciting ways.
For 2011 and 2012, EU-HOU will be holding seven teacher training sessions and two seminars on radioastronomy. We encourage EU-UNAWE teachers to find a session near them in the coming year!
