EU-UNAWE South Africa has been growing steadily over the last five months with the development of EU-UNAWE and will have a new Project Manager by the end of June 2011.
In May 2011, a video link between children in Sutherland and Brussels was held during an EU-UNAWE event at European Parliament, connecting children with astronomers on opposite sides of the world.
In South Africa, engagement and partnering projects have begun with key science centres, including developments at the Unizul Science Centre (USC). The USC targets some of the most rural parts of South Africa and is currently building Africa’s first dedicated Early Childhood Development Science Centre.
