On 13 January 2017, a storytelling event was held at the cancer ward of Philippine Children’s Medical Center. Young cancer patients enjoyed stories about astronomy subjects that were both fun and educational, provided by UNAWE Student Ambassadors.
Using prints and computer images, storytellers Kristine Jane Atienza and Manuel Christian Schuldez narrated a story about the moon, while Margarette Rosario and Kenneth Bailador told a story about the constellations.
Afterwards, the children were given activity sheets and crayons for them to create their own stories about the moon and the constellations.

The parents appreciated the simple activity and told us that it was informative and entertaining. “It is good for the children to have something to do every now and then, since they can’t do physically demanding activities”.
This program was organized by student ambassador Rheanne Jimeno with the help of her colleagues from University of the Philippines Astronomical Society.
