Rising From Ashes

An illustration showing a disk of material surrounding two white dwarf stars. The material was torn from nearby asteroids by the strong gravitational pull of the stars. Within the disk, the rocky debris can collide and stick together, forming larger and larger clumps. This is how a group of Earth-like, rocky planets were formed in this system.
